Integrations
Slack
Send SurveyTale response notifications to Slack.
Slack
Connect Slack to post SurveyTale survey response notifications to a Slack channel.
Prerequisites
- A SurveyTale workspace with permission to manage integrations.
- A Slack workspace where you can install or authorize apps.
- Access to the channel where SurveyTale should send response notifications.
Set up the integration
- In SurveyTale, open Workspace Settings -> Integrations.
- Select Slack.
- Click Connect with Slack.
- Authorize the OAuth flow and choose the Slack workspace SurveyTale can connect to.
- Return to SurveyTale and select the destination channel.
- Choose which SurveyTale response fields should appear in the Slack message. Common fields include survey name, submission time, contact email, and selected answer fields.
- Save the integration.
How response sync works
After the integration is saved, SurveyTale posts a message to the selected Slack channel when a new completed response is received. The message includes the fields you selected during setup and can be used to alert the team that new feedback is ready to review.
SurveyTale stores the original response in SurveyTale. Slack messages are notifications, not the source of truth for response data.
Notes and troubleshooting
- The channel dropdown is empty, or you don't see your channel. SurveyTale only
lists Slack channels that the SurveyTale app has been added to. In Slack, open the
channel you want and run
/invite @SurveyTale(or use the channel's Integrations → Add apps menu), then reopen the Link Slack Channel dialog — the channel will now appear. This applies to both public and private channels. - If messages stop appearing, check that the integration is still saved in SurveyTale and that the Slack channel still exists.
- Keep Slack messages concise. For detailed analysis, use SurveyTale or a structured destination such as Airtable, Notion, or Google Sheets.
